Frequently Asked Questions

  • DO I NEED TO RE-REGISTER FOR THE NEW APP?

    No, once your local store switches over your membership will automatically be switched over, you will be sent an email when this happens with instructions on how to download, or just ask your local store.

  • WILL MY POINT’S CARRY OVER?

    Yes, all points from your membership are all available on the new app once your home location has been added to the new app.

  • CAN I USE MY NEW APP AT OTHER LOCATIONS?

    Yes, your membership is still accepted at all Hogs Breath locations. However, as we transition to this new app, if you visit a location that has not been added you will receive a temporary discount rather than redeem / use points.

  • CAN I STILL JOIN PRIME PERKS?

    Yes, you can still join Prime Perks at any time and receive the benefits and rewards that come with our membership. See above if your location is on our new ‘Hog’s Breath’ app. Otherwise join on our existing ‘Prime Perks’ loyalty app.

  • How do I earn points?

    When you scan your card, all food and merchandise items you pay for will earn you points. Drinks do not always earn points, but keep an eye out for special promotions that offer bonus points for drink purchases.

  • How do I redeem my points?

    When you reach a certain balance of points for your Prime Perks account you can then use your points to get a discount on your next bill. The balance you need to reach depends on your membership level:

    • Blue = 150 points
    • Silver = 300 points
    • Platinum = 300 points
  • Will I get a physical membership card?

    There will be no need for a physical card anymore so we will not be producing them. Everything you need, including your digital membership card, is in the Prime Perks app.

    The Program Levels

    There are 4 membership levels – 3 points-based (Blue/Silver/Platinum) and the exclusive Gold level.

    Membership Level Descriptions

    Blue Level

    • All new sign-ups begin at this tier (new sign-ups are accounts created with an email address not currently registered in our member database).
    • Earn 0.5 points per $1 spent on qualifying items*.
    • Can redeem once 150 points balance is reached.
    • Points value at redemption: 1 point = 10 cents.
    • At redemption, member’s points balance will be brought to zero or the bill will be reduced to zero, whichever comes first.
    • Spend $600 in your review period (1 year)*** to receive an upgrade to Silver Level.
    • Your account shall remain open if you complete at least one loyalty transaction (transaction in which your membership number is successfully applied by scanning your card) with a Hog’s Breath Cafe restaurant in the 395-day period from your last recorded transaction. Failing to do so will result in the closing of your account and all your accumulated points will be forfeited.

    Silver Level

    • All existing Frequent Diner Blue and Standard Hog’s Squad members will begin at this tier once your email address is registered**.
    • Earn 1 point per $1 spent on qualifying items.
    • Can redeem once 300 points balance is reached.
    • Points value at redemption: 1 point = 10 cents.
    • Special offer valid for the first 12 months of the new program:
      • 100 bonus points on sign-up
      • Another 100 bonus points awarded once you reach 300 points earned (inclusive of 100-point sign-up bonus)
    • At redemption, member’s points balance will be brought to zero or the bill will be reduced to zero, whichever comes first.
    • To maintain Silver level, you must complete at least one loyalty transaction (transaction in which your membership number is successfully applied by scanning your card) with a Hog’s Breath Cafe restaurant in the 395-day period from your last recorded transaction. Failing to do so will result in your membership reverting to Blue Level.
    • Spend $1200 in your review period (1 year)*** to receive an upgrade to Platinum Level.

    Platinum Level

    • Earn 1.25 points per $1 spent on qualifying items*.
    • Can redeem once 300 points balance is reached.
    • Points value at redemption: 1 point = 10 cents.
    • At redemption, member’s points balance will be brought to zero or the bill will be reduced to zero, whichever comes first.
    • To maintain Platinum level, you must complete at least one loyalty transaction (transaction in which your membership number is successfully applied by scanning your card) with a Hog’s Breath Cafe restaurant in the 365-day period from your last recorded transaction. Failing to do so will result in your membership reverting to Silver Level.

    *Qualifying items: outside of promotional times, points can be earned on purchases of food and merchandise (not beverages). Promotional offers may be activated that include points for beverage purchases and other bonuses from time to time.

    Gold Level

    This member tier is a continuation of previous iterations of our Gold Program. The pool of members currently in this tier are considered our VIP’s, and to maintain the prestige of this tier no additional members will be added to the pool. Membership is lifelong. If Gold members wish to transfer to the points-based program they may do so by sending a request to Hog’s Breath Cafe Support Office ()

  • Why did the program change?

    Sadly, not all of our restaurants were able to survive the battering the pandemic forced upon us. We had to ensure our family-owned restaurants survived the tough trading conditions. We’ve worked hard to make sure that the Prime Perks program delivers exciting new benefits to you our beloved members while being sustainable for our restaurants.

  • Why do I no longer get a birthday voucher? (Blue, Silver, Platinum members)

    We have added a special benefit to our new points program – you can now earn points on the whole table’s worth of food and merchandise items, not just for your meal! If you pay for it, you earn it – this can add up quickly and you may enjoy more free meals than the once-a-year birthday voucher from our previous programs.

  • I’m a member of the previous Hog’s Breath Cafe loyalty programs and I don’t know (or can no longer access) what email address was registered with my account. What can I do?

  • I don’t have a smartphone – can I still be a member of Prime Perks?

    Yes of course! While it is much simpler to register your account with the app, we can register your account for you by contacting our Support Office with the details below. When you dine with us you will need to print your card number and barcode to enjoy your benefits. These will be supplied to you via email from us.

  • I’m a Gold Card member – has anything changed for me?

    Gold member benefits work the same way they always did. All you need to do is register your details when you download the app and your Gold Card will appear in the app – you no longer need the physical card (although we understand why you would want to keep it – they are rare and no longer being made!)

  • I’m a Gold member and I like the look of the points program… Can I swap over?

    Yes of course! As a points member you may be better off, plus you will gain access to exclusive offers not available at the Gold member level. Email us at to let us know you would like to transfer over, or speak with us at 1800 HOGSTER (1800 464 783). Please have your card number ready!

  • What happens if I don’t use my Prime Perks points card for a long time?

    Your points do not have an expiration date, and all you have to do is dine with us once a year to keep your membership alive. If you are a Silver or Platinum member and you have not used your membership for over a year, your membership will revert to a lower membership level for the following year. If you do not use your Blue membership for over a year we will sadly have to part ways – your account will be closed and any points you collected will be lost.
